The Challenge:
In the early days of COVID-19, information from local government agencies became more crucial than ever. The Spring Lake Park, Blain & Mounds View Fire Department needed to get the word out to residents that they were still operational, and taking steps to protect both themselves & the public from infection.
The Approach:
Wearing masks, CTV Producers Jared Wiedmeyer and Sydney Bertun brought a Canon C100 camera, tripod, and a boom mic. This setup allowed everyone to remain 6 feet apart throughout the shoot. In addition, they chose to film Fire Chief Charlie Smith in front of the station–a spot with good natural lighting and increased ventilation.
The Solution:
A professional and concise video affirming the department’s commitment to resident safety. In addition to the interview with FIre Chief Charlie Smith, b-roll footage highlighted various safety procedures to prevent the spread of COVID-19.
The Stats:
The video reached 3,100 people on Facebook, and received 315 engagements.
