Electronic Recycling
Repowered is a facility in St. Paul that is is open for Ramsey County residents to drop off electronics waste at no cost. Repowered is an industry leader in electronics recycling and refurbishing. One of the largest collectors of e-waste in the state of Minnesota. Repowered prides itself on providing jobs and training for persons facing barriers to employment.
Ramsey County’s program with Repowered provides:
- No-cost electronic recycling for Ramsey County residents (no businesses)
- Provide data destruction services
- Screen equipment for reuse potential
- Recycling and proper disposal of unusable e-waste
E-Waste Statistics
- 50 million tons of e-waste are generated globally each year.
- More than 266 million pounds of e-waste is generated in Minnesota every year but less than a quarter of that is being captured for recycling.
- In 2023, Ramsey County’s e-waste collection program alone received almost 800,000 lbs. of e-waste.
- E-waste contains recyclable metals. There is potential to recover 3 billion dollars worth of metals in Minnesota’s e-waste stream each year.
