The City of Roseville is currently accelerating its environmental efforts through the development of a comprehensive Climate Equity Action Plan, building on its 2020 Energy Action Plan and 2040 Comprehensive Plan. This new roadmap aims to modernize the city’s previous target of an 80% reduction in greenhouse gas emissions by 2050 to better align with the State of Minnesota’s more ambitious goal of reaching net-zero by 2050. As of early 2026, the city is actively engaging residents through community workshops and “climate storytelling” projects to ensure that sustainability initiatives such as expanding on-site renewable energy and implementing the Green to Go ordinance for compostable packaging are implemented equitably across all neighborhoods.
